Clinical trial network project
We uphold the fundamental principle of “contributing to the society through the development and practice of new medical treatments”. As part of our mission as a University, we are committing to advance clinical development. Kyoto Innovation Center for Next Generation Clinical Trials and iPS Cell Therapy (Ki-CONNECT), established in April 2020, conducts many clinical trials, including early-phase clinical trials for cancer and intractable diseases, regenerative medicine using iPS cells, and Phase I trials involving healthy volunteers.
To promote clinical development, rapid recruitment of patients is essential to complete research promptly. Additionally, development of decentralized clinical trials (DCT), which do not require patients to visit our university, is warranted.
In this context, we have launched the Clinical Trial Network Project to leverage the network of Kyoto University-affiliated hospitals. This project aims to expand opportunities for patients not only at our hospital but also affiliated hospitals to participate in clinical trials.
