Early clinical studies

Ki-CONNECT conducts clinical studies (early clinical studies) in the early stages of drug development. Early clinical studies include First-In-Human (FIH) trials, in which new promising drug candidates are administered to humans for the first time, Proof of Concept (POC) trials, which demonstrate the efficacy of the candidates, and Proof of Mechanism (POM) studies, which confirm the mechanism of efficacy. Each trial is an important step for creating a new drug. We will play a central role in these early clinical studies and carry out the trials under a cross-disciplinary implementation system. For patients who wish to participate in an early clinical study, please check the information on registration to the disease panel and for outpatient consultation as shown below.


Information on registration to the disease panel

At Ki-CONNECT, we are conducting clinical trials in the early stages of drug development. If you are interested in new treatments for your disease, patients who are looking forward to new medicines, or want to contribute to the next generation of medical care, please register for the disease panel using the link below.


Information for outpatient consultation

Participation criteria are different for each clinical study (including clinical trials). Please refer to the information below and make an appointment with the main department of the clinical study if you wish to participate as a healthy volunteer or patient. For patients who have already attended Kyoto University Hospital, please tell your doctor.


The Department of Early Clinical Development conducts a second opinion outpatient clinic (Monday afternoon) for early clinical studies (aimed at confirming the safety of new investigational drugs) for cancer patients. If you wish to have a consultation, please check the information below.

①Please prepare a medical information provision form, examination data, image data, etc., after consulting with your doctor*.
②Print out a Second Opinion Outpatient Application Form, complete it, and send it to the Regional Medical Cooperation Office.

・If you experience difficulty with printing, please contact the Regional Medical Cooperation Office. We will fax or mail it to you.
③The Regional Medical Cooperation Office will inform you of acceptance based on the second opinion outpatient application documents you send.
④Please send the prepared data such as the medical information provision form.
⑤We will arrange a consultation date and contact you.
⑥Please visit on time.
